Blogging via Blackberry

Being able to write blogs from a Blackberry tiny keyboard intrigues me. However, the email program often append a short text "Sent via Blackberry" at the end of the email body. Today, I was researching on how I could remove that short text and came across the "help" section of Blogger which mentioned that we could enter a "#end" at the end of the article to stop the short text from coming out. I'm going to try that out to see if it works.

Fixed! The "Mail-to-Blogger" features works for us now!

We tried using the "Mail-to-Blogger" feature this morning on my husband's site today and it works perfectly when it didn't in the past 2 days. This is such a great surprise and we're very happy that we can now post on the go - especially from our Blackberry devices. Yes, we have been using the Blackberry device for a few years now not just to receive emails but also to write emails. "Mail-to-Blogger" is a great feature to have definitely and now it works for us .... we really hope it will continue to work.

OK now come to the point of why it didn't work in the past few days? My hypothesis is that:

• Perhaps the server / setting needs a few days to adjust to the setting
• The server was too busy at that time to process the email to publish on the blog

But the most important thing is that eventually, all these problems were resolved and we CAN USE the "Mail-to-BLOGGER" feature! Hooray!!

What is the actual reason behind the post failure?

It is definitely easier & faster to post to Blogger from email - and there is no lack of formatting options either. So why does the feature works sometimes, and not at other times?
Possible reasons:

• I use email to Blogger (it works), my husband uses email to Beta Blogger (it has not worked so far)
• My Mail-to-Blogger address has only one "." (e.g. 12345.6789@blogger.com, my husband's Mail-to-Blogger address has two "." (e.g. 12345.6789.pqrst@blogger.com.

So far these are the possible reasons. Athough the Blogger, in the failed message mentioned that it could not process the message at that time (to my husband's blog), I was still able to post successfully using email to my Blog. I'll be trying again ....

Blogger Post Failed Again

{This blog below is sent via email - works on this account but failed in the other} . I then get into the "EDIT" panel to write this line and to post the screenshot.

My husband wrote this for his blog through email: "We were trying to
post some comments via email "Mail-to-Blogger" feature without success
yesterday. Today we tried it out at my wife's new blog at http://bloggerpostfailed.blogspot.com/ and it works beautifully athough test posts were all unsuccessful yesterday. Imagine how nice it would be to be able to write something while waiting for the meal to be served in a restaurant. I hope this will post successfully.
Anyway, we tried twice without success ... I'm puzzled. Will send a
screenshot later.

Posting Mail-to-Blogger using Thunderbird

Well, at least I know that the Mail-to-blogger feature works with Outlook Express email program (which most people have) but will it work with Thunderbird email program (which is from Mozilla). I'm just testing out the "Rich-text" format ... and if this works probably the Blogger server was not functioning when we were posting yesterday.

Also Posting From OE But Now Using a Different "From:" Address

This is so interesting! Seems it's not a problem of whether one uses "Plain Text"or "Rich Text" -- both posted successfully to the Blog. I will now test posting this Blog using a different "From" email address, using "Rich Text" and then proceed to test post one using Thunderbird email program. Let's see how it goes this time.

Now Posting Using Outlook Express Using "Rich Text"

The last post was instantly published!! That was great - so the problem probably lies with the email program ...but more testing is needed. I will post using the same "from" address but using the "Rich text" format.

Trying to Post Blog from Outlook Express

Now trying out to see if this message will post from Outlook Express email
program. We were using Thunderbird and Blackberry without success. I wonder
why and if sending the message out using "rich text"or "plain text makes any
difference". This message will be posted to the blog using just plain text.
I hope it goes through successfully.

While searching other people's BLOGS regarding the same issue, it seems that
someone's post got through but was delayed. Why? Was the Blogger server
down?

On the right is a screenshot of the message we get when we tried publishing a blog using email method. We have already created the secret "extension" for the email we need to use to deliver the blog.

Anyway, we tried several times without any success at all. We received the "post failed" message after several minutes of emailing the blog.

We do not seem to be able to find help regarding this issue on any other web pages except people posting that they have the same problem. We are perplexed -- and really hoping someone can tell us what is wrong. We tried emailing the blog out from Gmail, from other email address, and even from a Blackberry device -- all without success. If it works, this will be a FANTASTIC feature.

Blogger Post Failed

I had been using Blogger for almost half a year and recently discovered it has a "Blogger Post" feature where one can write and publish the Blog from an email! I thought to myself that this is a very wonderful feature. My husband set up his Blog the day before yesterday and because his was to write about food and dining experience, I thought it would be a good idea if he can actually post through email from his Blackberry device!! But it didn't work ... OK, so we try posting from Gmail ... again it didn't work. Or perhaps it's just his BetaBlogger, so I decided to email post my Blog to my own blog .... but we still receive the same old message from:

Date: ( ..whatever date ... )
To: (My email address)

saying for example:
Blogger could not process your message at this time.

Error code: ( ... some numbers ...)

From: ( My email address)

It's strange why there is no content ... we wrote a few paragraphs!

To look for some explanations, we searched Google but found that we are not alone. Has anyone ever posted his/her blog by email and get it to work? Why did it work and why did it fail?
